Norman Francis Gross, Sr. (Mickey) August 1, 1948 – May 25, 2022 Norman Francis Gross, Sr. of Washington, DC departed this life on May 25, 2022. He was born on August 1, 1948, in Washington, DC. to the late James Francis Gross and Kathleen Patricia (Sims) Gross. Norman was educated in the Washington, DC Public Schools system. At an early age, he began his career as a Floral Designer at C.W. Florist on Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave, Southeast, formally Nichols Ave, under the leadership of the late Mr. Charles Williams. Norman continued his career as a Floral Designer at various Florist in the Washington Metropolitan area including Minnesota Florist, Johnnie Florist and many others. He had a passion for floral designing, and he was well known for his funeral arrangements. Norman also loved to fix things around the house. He loved sports and his favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs. On November 4, 2011, he married Elizabeth Ann (Mayes) Gross. Norman was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed watching the Worship Service each Sunday morning. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Elizabeth A. Gross, his children: Marny Griffin (Antwan), Tavon Taylor, Antoinette Gross and Norman Gross, Jr., stepchildren, Robert Petty (Candace), David Petty (Kesha) and Deon Temoney (Nakeia); two brothers, Ronald Wallace and Robert Gross; two sisters, Denise Gross and the late Helen T. Gross- Davis. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Johnson & Jenkins observes CDC regulations for COVID-19 pandemic.
