Mr. William Emory Dyson III

Suddenly, August 13, 2020 William Emory Dyson III departed this life on August 13, 2020. William leaves behind many family, friends and colleagues. William is the son of William Emory Dyson, Jr. and the late Cynthia A. Dyson. William is preceded in death by his sister Sonya Marie Dyson. He leaves behind his father William Emory Dyson, Jr., Stepmother Delia A. Dyson, brother Eric Dyson( Synthia Dyson), Aunt Robyn Dyson Towles(Kevin Towles), Uncle Charles Beckwith, Cousins Regina Smith, Nikosi Dickerson and Shelly Smith and a host of nieces and nephews. Upon graduating from Morgan State University, William was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army. William received many promotions during his career, most notably the rank of Major. He served in multiple campaigns including Operation “Just Cause “ in Panama to protect the integrity of the Torrijos-Carter Treaties and US strategic interests. William also is a veteran of the Gulf War having served under operation Desert Storm to fight against Iraq. While others ran the other way, William was always running towards danger. He was always willing to defend the life and liberty of the United States. After retiring from the military, William worked in the intelligence community providing critical information to protect US interests domestic and abroad. William was a renaissance man. He was an inventor, scientist, illustrator, car enthusiast and a prolific writer. He had a passion for science fiction, spy novels and space travel. He loved to write about these topics. William loved his family and readily offered his expertise on safety, emergency preparedness and most recently where to find PPE during the pandemic. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
